Dear <<First Name>>

We wanted you to be the first to know - volunteer staff for small charities are now able to access our training!

We have listened to our Small Charity members’ feedback over the past year and are aware of the significant challenge our smallest members have accessing our training. We have therefore decided to run a pilot for the remainder of 2016 training dates whereby charities with an income of less than £50K per annum (and no more than two FTE paid staff) can send a volunteer to a FSI training course.

Do you want to help promote good governance?

Do you have a view on how we could recruit more trustees into small charities?

Do you think the Government should treat volunteers who become trustees in the same way as those who donate, through tax incentives?

Whatever your views, we’d like to hear them. We are in Nottingham on 21st September and we’d like to invite you for lunch to discuss the questions above. If you’d like to come along then let us know by contacting
olivia@thefsi.org.
Funding to strengthen your organisation

The Heritage Lottery Fund has just launched a new initiative, Resilient Heritage, with up to £250,000 of funding available per organisation for capacity building work. The funding is targeted to help strengthen organisations and build the capacity of staff and volunteers to better manage heritage in the long term.

Lloyds Bank Foundation's Enable Grants offer charities up to a total of £15,000 over one or two years, and can reinvigorate charities through funding organisational improvements, development of areas such as leadership and governance, improved systems and demonstrating outcomes.

If you’d like some support in developing or reviewing your application, please contact admin@thefsi.org to book an advice session with one of our advisors.
Sign up for Small Charity Index Survey

Don’t forget the new Small Charity Index will be coming out on 1st September, which offers a way for small charities like yours to collectively inform the sector of the issues facing smaller charities.

Has your charity’s CEO, Trustee or the most senior staff member signed up to take part yet? If not then your charity is missing out on the opportunity to win a £4,000, £1,000 or £500 prize. All they will need to do to be in with a chance of winning is to join our other members by completing a quarterly survey, each taking no more than 5-10 minutes. For more details about eligibility, then click here.

To register your interest, email Olivia at olivia@thefsi.org.
