Announcements & Reminders
 
  • Potluck Picnics:  Please plan to bring a (nut-free) favorite dish and plenty to share! Check with your child's teacher during carline for a sign-up sheet for the dish you plan to bring. Please also bring place settings, silverware, napkins, cups, and drinks (water will be provided) for each member of your family attending the picnic.   All families and friends are welcome to attend!
  • Fall Festival:  Our Fall Festival is set for October 22nd from 11:00-4:00. Our first Fall Festival Planning Meeting will be Tuesday, August 30th, 5:30, at Mead South - this is a great way to satisfy some of your school service hours!

Staff Spotlight

New Spanish Teacher: Lydia Lammons:  We are extremely excited to announce a new staff member to our teaching team! Lydia will be teaching Spanish to all of our students, Toddler to Adolescent at both our West and South Campuses. Lydia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and a secondary Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology. Lydia has taught Spanish for the Knox County Public School district and also taught in the Rutherford County School district in North Carolina. Lydia has a wide range of experience working with children in Spain, Ecuador and also through the Americorps program in Johnson City. A Montessori child herself, Lydia has a natural curiosity for how children learn language and is committed to making it a natural part of their daily life. The children are extremely excited to begin this journey with Lydia!
