Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun” (Mary Lou Cook)

This year North East Open Studios will take place from 10 until 18 September. I'm delighted that I will be exhibiting at the Woodend Barn in Banchory together with ceramicist Kevin Andrew Morris. I'm now working hard to finish some new art pieces which will be shown there for the first time.

You can download a digital version of the NEOS catalogue here. I have a few catalogues available so if you would like to have one, please contact me. You can find my listing under number 74 (or page 40).

During NEOS we will also run some workshops. The Rag and Bone China Workshop by Kevin will be held on Monday the 12th from 12 until 2 pm. Back by popular demand is my Creative Sketchbook workshop which will take place on Wednesday the 14th from 10 am until noon. To book your place and for more information visit the Woodend Barn's website.

Last but not least, one of the exhibitors has been so kind to create a trail map of all the NEOS exhibitors in Banchory. The numbers correspond with the numbers in the NEOS catalogue.

Have a great NEOS experience and hopefully see you at the Woodend Barn!

My profile

Fenfolio is the artist name of Fenneke Wolters-Sinke. Fen is my short name and folio means "a sheet of any written or printed material".  My artwork and sketchbooks are the result of experimenting with a diverse range of mediums, trying out new combinations, pushing the boundaries, making mistakes and learning and feeling completely free in developing my creativity. Nature is a big theme in my artwork and I'm inspired by textures, patterns, colours, tones and shapes. My mixed media paintings can contain kitchen foil, modelling paste, paper collage, scraps of fabric, prints from my own photos or printmaking, dried flowers and leaves, bark or sand. My collograph and etching prints can be monochrome or very colourful but are always full of texture and markmaking. My photography is still a medium I use regularly, not only as an art form in itself but also as reference for new paintings or prints. The digital art I create on my Ipad can sometimes also lead to new art projects. Visit my website http://www.fenfolio.com to see my paintings, drawings, sketches, digital artwork, photography, prints, design work, handmade note cards, personal blog and more information about my art workshops and exhibitions.
