Lotus Lightheart, days before being rescued, photographed by her rescuer, Scott Stanga.

Dear ARC Friends,
It's been a busy summer! There's so much to do locally and globally to help create a more compassionate world for all beings, and thanks to all of you, we are building momentum and seeing ARC's impact grow.

This past month, we were able to help two more animals avoid death and find refuge at Full Circle Sanctuary.  First we helped with some short term emergency fundraising to get a 4 month old cow named Daisy out of a kill pen in Louisiana and transported to Full Circle. On the heels of that rescue, we worked with Full Circle and a compassionate friend in Virginia to help save a pig named Lotus whose story you can read below, where you'll also see how you can help us with her care.

We also had a wonderfully successful first ever rodeo protest in Foley, AL. Below you can see some photos and read the great article which AL.com did about our peaceful demonstration.

The Greater Gulf State Fair returns to Mobile in October, and we're already working to prevent the cruel events they have scheduled. As of now, the Fair plans to include both a rodeo and an exotic animal exhibit over the course of the two week event. Please sign the petition below and let's see if we can convince the Fairgrounds to choose more humane and compassionate exhibits and activities. Hopefully when the Fairgrounds learn about the inherent cruelty in these scheduled events, they will change their plans, and we won't need to demonstrate at all! But if the events go forward as planned, ARC will be there to point out that abuse is not entertainment and to help raise awareness, respect, and compassion for these abused animals.

Our next delicious vegan cafe happens Saturday, August. 27th (See details and link below). And just around the corner, ARC is taking our first road trip! We're going up to Full Circle Sanctuary to meet some of the animals (including the ones we've helped rescue), and help the sanctuary with any work projects they need a hand with. More details below.

Every single day, each one of us makes hundreds of choices that affect other beings. Each day we can be the guard, the protector, the light all beings need. Let there be peace in this world for all beings, and let it begin with me.

With Great Love, and in Solidarity,
Tracey and the whole ARC team

It takes a village...
Lotus Lightheart  is one very lucky girl. As a tiny piglet, she was used as some kind of bait for hunting dogs, suffering injuries to her ear and back. A local man found out what was happening to her and took her in. Only he didn’t plan to keep her as a pet, but rather to raise her for food. Read more..

ARC Road Trip To Full Circle Sanctuary
Labor Day Weekend
Sept 2-4
ARC is taking a road trip! We are heading up to Warm Springs, GA to volunteer at Full Circle Farm Sanctuary. We'll be helping the sanctuary with some projects including painting, and cleaning out one of the buildings on the property. Plus of course we'll have lots of time to get to meet and hang out with the sanctuary's non human residents including Sylvia, the pregnant cow we helped rescue a couple weeks ago, as well as Daisy (now named Ingrid) the 4 month old heifer we helped get to the sanctuary and Lotus Lightheart, the beautiful pig we recently helped save too. Hope you can join us! Read more details and updates at the event page.

The Greater Gulf State Fair comes to Mobile October 28 – November 6, 2016. The Fair will include numerous events which cause suffering for the animals used in these acts. Scheduled activities feature wild animals including lions, tigers, gators, bears, monkeys, and owls, as well as a rodeo and stampede scheduled to run on two days, Oct. 30th and 31st.

Please sign and share our petition which seeks to educate the Grounds and the public about the cruelty inherent in these events and asks the Grounds to choose more humane, compassionate forms of entertainment which do not abuse or exploit other living beings.

Sign the petition here.

Peaceful Protest at The Foley Rodeo.
Twenty-one brave compassionate activists came out to hold a peaceful demonstration at the rodeo in Foley, AL earlier this month. It We held signs and handed out literature. The whole demonstartion was filled with the spirit of compassion and peace that we are all committed to extending to all beings. Thanks to all who came out, or who wished us well, or let us know you agree that it's time to stop rodeo cruelty, and to all who want to be at the next one! Click here to read the wonderful article Michelle Irvin of AL.com did about our demo.
May all beings be happy and free from suffering and may the thoughts, words, and actions of our own lives contribute to that happiness and that freedom in some way. Peace to all beings.
