WHAT'S HAPPENING AT EXCEED...

Casa del Valle Residential Facility Happenings...

July was a typical month of summer activities: mani's and pedi's, shopping at the mall, swimming and lounging at Valley Wide Aquatic Center, viewing of the new Ghostbusters movie (Jamie enjoyed it so much, she invited her dad out so she could see it again!), dinner and dancing, and ending the month with a trip to the beach in Oceanside.

Santa Fe (Hemet) ADC Happenings...

This month, ADC continued to volunteer at the T.H.E. Center and the Devonshire Care center. Some of the clients enjoyed the $1.00 deal movies at the local theatre.  Everyone just tried to stay cool this month and beat the heat. We are all looking forward to seeing what next month brings.

Santa Fe (Hemet) WAC Happenings...

July has been a scorcher and the WAC has continued to do the usual envelope stuffing jobs along with the other regular contract work. In our downtime, everyone has continued to keep busy with trainings on safety and other important subjects.

Perris ADC Happenings...

The ADC has enjoyed the month of July. The clients voted unanimously to have an Independence Day water party. They all enjoyed having a water balloon and water gun fight. They also had a BBQ with cheeseburgers and other goodies. The clients also had face painting and carnival type games where the winner got to choose their prize. It was a ton of fun and they are already talking about wanting to do it again. This month’s theme is Weird Science. The classrooms have been learning about all of the different types of sciences and performing experiments. Everyone is having a blast this month. We will be holding an end of the theme finale that consists of a science fair and each classroom will have their own project. We are looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Perris WAC Happenings...

The Client Council put on a wonderful Independence Day Event.   They had a Bar-B-Que with Hamburgers, Cooked by the staff and served to the clients, and chips and desserts, and sodas to drink.  There was music, and singing, and we didn't even mind the heat so much because everyone was having such a good time.  We see daily the clients and staff working alongside of each other, but it is truly heartwarming to see them having a good time together.  We didn't have any brand new work in July, but we did get an opportunity to bid on two new jobs that look very promising for August.

Supported Employment Happenings...

There were 3 IRC clients that started working a new job this month. We had 1 client that transitioned from a group  to Individual Placement and 3 clients that were placed in an IP job. Two at Home Depot and one at Home Goods.

All Individual clients placed are making at least minimum wage.

Average IP wage is $12.75
Average Group wage is $6.87

This month has involved some busy feet hitting the pavement, solidifying opportunities for our ladies and gents.

We completed final negotiations on two new groups at AMA Plastics slated to begin mid August 2016.

Mario R. who is currently on the Lowes janitorial group was interviewed and was offered full-time employment with Home Depot in Moreno Valley. He is slated to start his new IP job the first week of August. Great Job Mario!!

Zachary O. interviewed for a job at Home Depot and was hired. He will also begin his new IP job the first week of August.

Andrew O. was laid off from his job at Connect and, the very next day, interviewed at Home Goods and was hired. He started his new IP job on 7/21. He is working more hours now and is very happy in his new job. Awesome for Andrew.

Rene M. successfully passed his California Drivers License test. Looking forward to seeing him on the road. Great job Rene!
