Leslie Meehan, David Nicol and Cynthia with ETV at ceremony in Santa Fe
The Kansas ETV Story

In June, Gaiafield Project co-founders, David Nicol and Leslie Meehan came to Santa Fe to initiate the Wise USA ETV with Cynthia. Following a beautiful ceremony at Open Way Sangha, the vase was driven across country to Wichita, Kansas, where we were hosted by Pam Bjork and her wonderful community. Here is the story:
From our host in Kansas, Pam Bjork:
While on an ETV journey with Cynthia to Australia’s Aboriginal lands in 2014 a strong message came to me saying an Earth Treasure Vase belonged in Kansas. Time passed, and the vast Flint Hills of Kansas gave me solace when I moved back to Wichita from years at the ocean in California. When Cynthia circled back to me and asked if we could bury an ETV in Kansas dedicated to a Wise USA I answered with resounding yes!  Thirty friends from my community in Wichita enthusiastically gathered with Cynthia, Leslie and David, who had been stewarding this vase for three years. After a deep meditation, we shared our prayers and offerings into the vase as it went around the circle, so excited for it to be planted with us here in America’s heartland. The vase was sealed that night into a beautiful ceramic container locally made with love for the occasion, and the next day we rose at dawn to make our pilgrimage into the Flint Hills – America’s last remaining tall grass prairie.
David was guided to bury the vase under the branches of an Osage Orange tree while the wild horses who are given refuge on that wide open land land overlooked our ceremony from the ridge above. Our pregnant host Molly, whose extended family has cared for that land for many generations, shared her blessings with us and we all felt the promise of new life through the child she carried within. She and David lowered the vase deep into the soil to be held by the tree roots and prairie grasses. I felt the tree telling us that she could sacrifice a few roots because she regenerates and knows we do this in love. I saw the little vase light up with joy as she joined the others in the ETV mandala…and the energy lines in all directions lighting up. I heard rattles, birds singing, sounds of a few coyote in the distance, winds…and I feel the vase radiating its blessings into the land, across the continent and around the world. Through the people who gathered and the prayers we shared, I fell in love with the land and its healing potential for our beautiful planet. Baby Grace was born to Molly and her husband on July 22nd.
From Dorothy (of Oz) Gray:
I was honored to participate in the gathering of over two-dozen people in the country's heartland for a ceremony to facilitate healing for the Mother Earth and her inhabitants. Each person placed small objects in a ceremonial clay vase and shared their prayers and intentions. Objects ranged from soil from the paw print of an African white lion, to a deceased mother's precious ring, in a profound ceremony filled with compassion that I was moved to embrace with heartfelt commitment. Afterwards, the vase was placed in a beautiful clay box, made specifically for the occasion and sealed.  It was a magnificent honor to be a participant in the extraordinary ceremony which we completed the next morning out on the undulating, lush, green Flint Hills of the Kansas prairie. The experience was profound on many levels and something has shifted for me as a result.  I am ready to go wherever another vase is planted! Thank you for bringing the Earth Treasure Vase to us here.
And from former Mayor of Wichita, Margalee Wright:
On a lovely summer morning a small band of peacemakers ventured into the beautiful Kansas Flint Hills. Sprit-led vision revealed an Osage Orange tree tucked in the middle of a dip in the hills. Heartfelt mantras, songs (and a bit of work to dig the hole) filled our hearts as the Earth Treasure Vessel was buried. The energy of ceremony continues. Our hearts resonate with compassion, joy and wisdom. Thank you for the beautiful ceremonies here in the Heartland which live deep in my heart. Afterwards, with a wink from God, I dreamed that I was to marry and raise three girls. I was clear that the girls were to be named, wisdom, joy and compassion!
Years ago I delivered a speech on “Global Consciousness and the Political Process” about my personal experience, especially the lack of balance, exclusion of the feminine point of view and competition over cooperation. The final point was that fear contracts and circles expand. Fear builds pyramid-like structures that do not work for ALL, while circles create systems that include ALL. The burial of the Earth Treasure Vessel in the Flint Hills is important for the healing of ALL.

Laura Feldman with the Hanford ETV
Hanford Nuclear Reservation ETV

Laura Feldman is stewarding an ETV dedicated to being buried in proximity to the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Oregon. She asks for our full moon prayers to assist her in the completion of this vase. Here is the latest from Laura:

In July, I made my second tour of the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in the good company of Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Hanford Earth Treasure Vase.  The vase came to Portland last summer and began its introduction to place with the Healing Journey of the Waters tour up the Columbia River to the land of the Hanford Nuclear Reservation.  Since then, I've held monthly full moon vase meditations and have taken the vase to a number of events. Filled with prayers and offerings of community members living in the radiation radius of Hanford in the Cascadia Bioregion and beyond, the ETV is slowly becoming part of place and preparing to join the global mandala of all the other Earth Treasure Vases.

On this recent tour of Hanford I was greatly disturbed to find that the famous B Reactor has been turned into a National Historic Landmark as part of the National Park Service in their ongoing efforts to turn the site into a nuclear theme park. It is hard to believe they are not concerned that this is a sacrificial landscape with a dangerous history of weapons-grade plutonium production and its wastes forever stored there.

We held a very special Earth Treasure Vase ceremony on the riverbank and I felt a greater sense of clarity about the journey of the Hanford vase, as if the Vase had settled deeper into place. I intend to seek permission of the elders of the Yakama Nation to bury the vase on their land and invite their guidance about where the vase should be buried. I ask the extended global community connected to the Earth Treasure Vase practice and those of you who have held this vase and added your prayers and offerings into it, to please continue to hold the vision of this sacred vessel being buried at Hanford and for the healing of Hanford in your hearts.  My personal vision includes the transformation of Hanford into a Peace Center, linked with other Peace Centers around the world. May it be so!
