“It puts us right in the middle of millions of moments when tourists make a decision. Secondly, it helps us in terms of smelling the trends as they evolve.. I think that's the two key things why we went for … I would have said even without the PATA CEO Challenge we would probably have asked for TripAdvisor.”
- Joey Sarte Salceda, Governor of Albay -

PATA CEO Blog: The world’s largest Treasure Hunt – where will it take us? |
|
For those who know me well, it will not come as a surprise to you that I am writing about the ‘largest Treasure Hunt’ the world has ever known: Pokemon Go.
I must admit that I am one of the 100 million users that downloaded the game in the first month of its launch. My son and I spent part of our recent holiday in Sri Lanka chasing Pokemon around tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants. This treasure hunt has no pirates, no real treasures and no wooden coffer full of gold and diamonds but everyone is still searching for these little creatures in order to be seen at the top of the rankings. The game has taken the world by storm and has surprised even its creators to the point where their servers were not able to keep up with the volume of traffic. |
