Calgary's new Building Maintenance Bylaw will require the exterior of buildings five storeys or higher and 10 years or older to be visually assessed for necessary repairs every five years.

Are you a building owner or manager with questions about the process? We are currently seeking opportunities to present to commercial and residential building industry associations and groups in fall and winter 2016/2017. This could be at your regular meetings, lunch and learns, conferences and more.

Our presentation includes:
  • How and why we developed the bylaw
  • Key highlights of the bylaw
  • Conducting a Building Exterior Visual Assessment (BEVA)
  • Obligations of the person conducting the BEVA
  • Obligations of the owner
  • Enforcement and implementation of the bylaw
  • Answering any questions you may have about the bylaw
If you are interested or would like to learn more, please contact randy.reid@calgary.ca.
