PATIENT NEWS
ANOTHER RECORD SETTING YEAR!
We are well on our way to setting another record for animal admissions for the eighth year in a row! To date in 2016 we have provided care for 1,198 patients. This is 163 animals more than we had admitted by this date in 2015, and 2015 was a record setting year of 1,500 admissions. It is very likely that we will pass the 1,600 patient mark this year.
JULY WILDLIFE RELEASES
But what would patient admissions be without releases? Afterall, that is the best part of doing wildlife rehabilitation! In just the first 3 weeks of July we released 109 animals back into their native environments. Like the Western Striped Skunks pictured below.

NEW BUILDING HELPS WITH RISE IN PATIENT NUMBERS
Many thanks to the Karen M. Schroth Charitable Foundation for Animals for their generous grant that enabled us to purchase and construct a new ICU Annex building at Chintimini! With the increase in patient admissions we have been experiencing, we had exceeded our capacity for critical care patients that have to be housed in our Clinic Intensive Care Unit. With this new building, we now have the space to house the dozens of critical patients that come in for care each week.
