Animated Dreams begins a new competition programme SHUT UP!

Tallinn, Estonia - August 12, 2016 - Animated Dreams, the biggest animated film festival in the Baltics taking place November 16-20, begins its 18th year with a new one-of-a-kind competition programme SHUT UP! The films selected into the competition have to meet the requirement of using no dialogue or voice-over text.

“The idea behind SHUT UP! is to highlight visual storytelling in animation,” explained Olga Pärn, the new artistic director for Animated Dreams. The SHUT UP! programme jury will consist of postgraduate students of the Estonian Academy of Arts. “This is a great opportunity for students to take on the role of film critics and to offer them an important festival experience,” Pärn added.

Filmmakers can participate in the Animated Dreams competition programmes by uploading their films to Reelport. The applicants must create a Reelport account and fill all the necessary forms. More information on our website www.anima.ee.

The submission deadline for all films has been extended until September 12.

Animated Dreams is a part of the PÖFF Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival programme.
