On Thursday, Oakland's Danny Valencia played right field for just the 12th time in his 7-year MLB career, and it was a gem. The 31-year-old Miami native earned two outfield assists: one for helping nail Baltimore's Adam Jones at home plate in the 1st inning, and another for tossing Nolan Reimold out at second base in the 5th inning. Valencia also went 1-for-3 with a single as the A's shut out the Orioles 1-0. He told an interviewer he loves playing right field in front of A's fans.
Dodgers CF Joc Pederson went 0-for-3 with a walk in a 6-2 loss to Philadelphia.
Detroit 2B Ian Kinsler went 0-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a 3-1 loss to Seattle. With 21 HRs and 13 thefts this season, Kinsler has a shot at achieving the fourth "20/20" of his career, something only 31 players have accomplished in MLB history.
Milwaukee LF Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 with two singles and an RBI in a 4-3 win over Atlanta. So far in August, Braun has 12 RBIS in eight games.
Reliever Scott Feldman did not play in Toronto's 7-0 win over Tampa Bay. Blue Jays CF Kevin Pillar is on the 15-day disabled list.
