Welcome to the first installment of Flywheel FOCUS. This newsletter will be a valuable source of information on politics, policy, political climate, elections, trends and much more at the federal state, local level.

For our first issue of Flywheel FOCUS, we are offering you our fifty-state budget report, which provides a detailed summary of each state’s budget for the 2017 fiscal year. Furthermore, this report also provides a comprehensive snapshot of each state's political climate. 

In particular, this report includes five critical areas of each state’s budget: K-12 education, higher education, corrections, transportation, and Medicaid/Health funding. The report also discusses some of the major trends present in state budgets this year.

The information this report offers is essential to understanding the political landscape in each of the fifty states, as budget problems often equate to slowdowns in how efficiently states run, and budget surpluses and additional funding sometimes means opportunities for those who wish to do business in the states.
