We know that you enjoy visiting different libraries and it can get confusing with all of the different checkout rules. That’s why some of your local libraries have come up with standard checkout durations for certain items. Checkout will be as easy as 3-2-1!

1960s TV Memories
Monday, August 15 • 7-8:30pm
Join Steve Cooper as he introduces rare film and video clips with fascinating behind the scenes stories. Enjoy original theme songs and opening clips from the Patty Duke Show, I Dream of Jeanie, Bewitched, My Three Sons, and more. Rare video clips from the 1960s include: The Beatles at Shea Stadium LIVE, Hullabaloo & Shindig, The Young Rascals, a very young Barbra Streisand, Peter, Paul & Mary, and many more. Steve will also play some TV themes on his trumpet and will take audience requests!
Chair Yoga
Tuesday, August 16 • 11am-12pm
Yes, you can practice yoga while seated in a chair! Certified yoga instructor Joan Zigulich of Yoga Pathway, LLC will guide you in this practice designed for everybody. The focus will be on simple movements designed to stretch and strengthen the whole body- ideal for office workers or if you’re concerned about getting down on the floor.
Color for fun with us! Enjoy the benefits of creative coloring in great company. We provide the pages, colored pencils, markers, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and a good time.
BINGO & Cookies
Tuesday, August 23 • 11am-12pm
Come on in and join us for some fun daytime bingo and delicious cookies. Prizes will be awarded to the game winners. Must be 18+ to play.
Pick up a copy in advance at the Adult Services Desk. Registration not required.
Page Turners Sci-Fi Book Club

Discover great science fiction/fantasy books and authors.

Paper Piecing Workshop
Saturday, August 20 • 12:30-4:30pm
By popular request, Eileen Uchima will be offering an introductory paper piecing class. We will be constructing a small portable sewing kit to keep your sewing essentials organized. This simple project will take the mysteries out of foundation piecing. You will learn all of the basics for this very useful and flexible, yet somewhat daunting technique.

Supply list available at the Adult Services Desk or by clicking HERE . This is not a class for absolute beginners! Some basic cutting and sewing experience and knowledge of your machine is essential.
Charity Quilts
Thursday, August 25 • 7-8:30pm
Jackie Lorenz will provide patterns that can be completed for charity quilts for the Ronald McDonald House at Christ Advocate Hospital. Questions about the patterns will also be addressed. For those who cannot attend, patterns will be available at the library. Completed quilts can be turned in at the September Block of the Month meeting.
The Friends of the Library is a non-profit volunteer community service group.

Attend our monthly meetings to help plan upcoming Friends of the Library events, fundraisers, and projects that support and improve the library and the community.
