Only 3 Weeks Until the 2016 Very Important Families (VIFs) Arrive in Bethany Beach!!!

ANOTHER VERY SPECIAL YEAR!!!    It is an HONOR and VERY EXCITING to have the Wounded Warrior Families visiting the Bethany Beach community!!  

Final preparations are underway for the 4th Annual Warrior Family Beach Week. Here are some pictures of locals and visitors putting final touches on Welcome Signs from the Poster Pal program!  All posters are used to welcome VIFs as they arrive and throughout the week...

How to Get Involved...

During the week, Bethany Beach will host 32 VIFs (Very Important Families). Residents and visitors can continue to show our most deserving fellow Americans, that Bethany Beach is a community that cares.   Here are a few ways:

• Thursday (9/8) 6:00 PM – 9 PM for Family Night – Warrior Families will be in downtown Bethany Beach having dinner, shopping and enjoying the beauty of the town.  You can recognize the Warrior Families by the OSTD ID Tag they wear (red, white, and blue VIF tag).   If you see any of the VIFs, thank them for their service and sacrifice.
• Friday (9/9) 4:45 – 5:15 PM for a Hero's Welcome Home --  Line the Streets! Be part of the community showing honor to the Very Important Families (VIFs) of Operation SEAs The Day --- LINE THE STREETS!  Local Communities will line the streets to cheer and recognize the Wounded Warrior families as a motorcade leaves Sea Colony Marketplace, Route 1 through South Bethany and onto Route 54 (Fenwick) towards Selbyville into Freeman Stage at Bayside on 9/9.   Buses carrying Warrior families will leave Sea Colony Marketplace at 4:45 PM and arrive at Bayside between 5:00 - 5:15 PM.  Bring your family and friends --- wear Red, White, and Blue ---- wave an American flag.  Or come to Bayside and give these brave men and woman the HERO’S WELCOME HOME they deserve as they arrive around 5 PM. 
• Friday (9/9) 7:00 PM – Bruce In The USA concert -- Bruce In The USA is much more than just another tribute. It’s the ultimate celebration of Bruce Springsteen & The E. Street Band. Matt Ryan, began playing the Springsteen character in 2000 in the Legends In Concert Las Vegas show.  This high-energy musical experience is fun-filled and exciting and is a note-perfect and visually accurate recreation of a Bruce Springsteen & The E. Street Band show.  The VIFs will be the honored guests for the evening.   Tickets still available on the Freeman Stage website freemanstage.org. 
• Saturday (9/10) Events
  • 11 AM - 1 PM – Cripple Creek Classic Car Show – Free entry to all --  If you like cars, you don’t want to miss the Third Annual Cripple Creek Classic Car Show.   Proceeds will benefit Operation SEAs The Day.   Award Ceremony includes Veteran’s Best Pick in show!  Cripple Creek Golf and Country Club, 29494 Cripple Creek Drive in Dagsboro, DE.   • 11:45 PM – 2:00 PM. – Charlie K’s BBQ Lunch! Come enjoy delicious barbecue food, fun and games for all ages!  All purchases benefit Veterans’ groups – 95 Atlantic Avenue (Route 26), Ocean View, DE. For more information, check out charlieksbbq.com...
