ANDREA CLINTON'S TOP 3 TIPS FOR NEW COMPETITORS
1 // Have a coach or someone that is knowledgeable to assist you. An unbiased eye and support is crucial. Do your homework if hiring a coach for nutrition and or training. Ask around, get recommendations, make sure you are hiring someone that has your best interests at heart.
2 // Be positive. This is something you have chosen to do. Competing can be mentally and physically uncomfortable, so surround yourself with positive people and energy. Ignore the naysayers. Keep your eye on the prize, which is seeing your goal of competing through.
3 // Be realistic. Talk to people that have competed in the past. Make sure you understand what is involved with competing; the expense, the time you spend in the gym, the nutrition, the time spent away from family.
