Simon Hakim (Economics), with colleague Robert Clark (not Temple affiliated), has had a book related to cyber security published by Springer Science & Business Media. The book is part of a book series by Erwin Blackstone (also Economics) and Simon Hakim on Protecting Critical Infrastructure.
Anthropology faculty member Kimberly Williams has been awarded an extension of her Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program Fellowship. The original fellowship supported her research project Geospatial Bioarchaeology of the Ancient Oman Mortuary Landscapes in 2015–2016. The extension will enable her to spend academic year 2016–2017 continuing her field research in Oman, where she will also be a visiting associate professor in the Department of Archaeology at Sultan Qaboos University.
Jim Bachmeier (Sociology) has been awarded a grant from the Migration Policy Institute for his research involving Estimates of U.S. Foreign-Born Population by Legal and Citizenship Status.
A continuation of funding has been issued for the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Trash Task Force Monitoring Study. The PI on this ongoing project is Hamil Pearsall (GUS) and the sponsor is Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership, Inc.

New Faculty Members Invited to Contact CLA Research Staff As we begin the fall semester, incoming faculty members are gearing up for their new roles in CLA. For many, this role involves conducting research. To assist with these endeavors, the CLA Research office can help to obtain new grants as well as manage current grants. If you intend to submit a proposal, wish to have a funding search conducted, or simply want to discuss the process of proposal preparation in CLA, you are encouraged to contact Kimberly Fahey(Director of Research, CLA) or Gina Barnes (Assistant Director, Pre-award Services).
