New Downtown SLO Commuter Program Seeks to Empower Employees to Make a Smart Commute Choice

Rideshare’s Back ‘N’ Forth Club Helps Downtown SLO Employees
Free Up Parking

San Luis Obispo, Calif. – August 29, 2016 – Today SLOCOG’s SLO Regional Rideshare program announced a partnership with the City of San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo Downtown Association, and downtown business owners that encourages employees traveling to downtown SLO to make smart commute choices. The Back ‘N’ Forth Club, a free commuter program for employers countywide, provides the tools needed for employers and workers to reduce the number of single occupant vehicles on our roadways. The targeted program created for Downtown SLO aims to help people save money, reduce congestion and parking demand, and improve air quality and worker’s health.

As part of the Back ‘N’ Forth Club, downtown commuters can:

  • Find a carpool match at iRideshare.org/s/DowntownSLO to share parking and commute costs.
  • Participate in online challenges and sweepstakes to win prizes and incentives.
  • Take the SLO City bus for FREE with the Downtown Access Pass.
  • Learn how to find an inexpensive bike, electric bike rental, bike repair, or get a FREE rental to give it a try.
  • Get access to free bike lockers, available countywide.
  • Join a vanpool and receive a monthly subsidy toward lease costs, plus get free vanpool parking downtown
  • Have free access to Rideshare’s Guaranteed Ride Home program for those times when the smart commute choice just can’t get you where you need to be in time.

SLO Regional Rideshare encourages the entire downtown community to join the Back ‘N’ Forth Club at iRideshare.org/s/DowntownSLO. To learn more about the Back ‘N’ Forth Club or find your smart commute, please call 511 or visit Rideshare.org.
