Book I'm revisiting--

The Bed of Procrustes by Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a book of aphorisms. It could be a quick read, but I highly recommend rereading the book a second or third time. I've reread the aphorisms many times now, and I always find new insight. The book has inspired me to begin writing a list of educational aphorisms, which I hope to share someday.

Tip of the week--

During PLC time, take three minutes (or less) to watch one THREE MINUTE THRILLER with your team and spend five minutes discussing how you all can use the skill to improve student learning. You can find the whole THREE MINUTE THRILLER playlist here.
 

Conference I'm attending--

I know I already shared this on a previous FIVER FRIDAY, but the KernCUE Tech Fest is happening on Saturday, October 8th, from 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M at Tevis Junior High. I highly recommend presenting or at least attending. You can find all the registration information here.
