Dear PCUM family-

Please join me, Pastor Lauren, the Session, and many longtime church staff, leaders and members in giving thanks to God for the life and ministry of the Rev. Edwin C Bockstiegel, who passed away in Cincinnati, Ohio on Thursday, August 18th.  Ed's son, Bob, was kind enough to reach out to the church over the weekend to let us know this important news.  As we and Ed's entire family mourn his death and celebrate his truly wonderful life, I ask that we hold the entire extended Bockstiegel family in our thoughts and prayers.

Ed, affectionately known by so many at PCUM as "Mr. B," served and led faithfully as pastor here from 1970 to 1992 and in 1993 was named Pastor Emeritus of our church.  His grace and talent and good humor were a gift to all of us--whether we knew him or came after his time here--and contributed beyond measure to the Spirit and health of this unique community of faith. 

Ed's family has now told us that there will be a memorial service giving thanks for his life on Sunday, October 9th at the Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati.  An interment in New Jersey will follow in November.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as together we look back at God's particular blessing of Ed Bockstiegel on all of our lives--and as we continue to build in his and others' legacy of love and commitment.
