A GRAPHIC RE-VISIONING OF NONPROFIT OVERHEAD

Most nonprofit leaders agree that we need a new way to communicate about the true costs of our programs and the vital importance of strong organizational infrastructure.  But we have not yet developed a simple, consistent message when sharing our view with potential supporters and investors. We are stuck with old terms and old images.

Curt Klotz provides a series of re-visioned images and descriptions in his blog in pictures. How we visualize nonprofit structures and programs shape the overhead debate.  Read more about Curt's ideas about how to get graphic about our new ideas – to deploy fresh images to help educate ourselves, the public, and our funders. Read more.

MACROSTIE ART CENTER

The MacRostie Art Center, located in downtown Grand Rapids, serves as a regional art center for northern Minnesota. As a hub of regional art activity, MacRostie has 2 galleries, 4 studios and a shop that sells the art of local artists. The galleries each change shows once a month, resulting in 24 exhibitions per year at the center.

“NAF is a great resource for us,” Katie Marshall, MacRostie’s executive director said. ”I’ve had the opportunity to be involved with NAF in a lot of different ways over the years." To read more from Katie about how NAF is partnering with nonprofits like MacRostie in Itasca County, click here

LOAN SPOTLIGHT

Minnesota Spay Neuter
Assistance Program

Minnesota Spay Neuter Assistance Program (MN SNAP) provides high-quality, affordable and accessible spay/neuter services to animals within underserved/low-income communities, animals within the rescue/shelter system, and feral cat communities.  MN SNAP offers services throughout Minnesota where cost, transportation, or the absence of veterinary services is an obstacle to spaying and neutering.

On August 16, MN SNAP opened a new facility, an 11,841-square-foot warehouse on Washington Avenue in northeast Minneapolis.  The newly renovated space, where it can perform surgeries in-house, is conveniently located, easily accessible, and has space for education and outreach activities.

NAF is honored to partner with MN SNAP by providing a loan for the renovation of the warehouse. This will streamline MN SNAP’s operations, improve efficiency, and most importantly, enable it to save more dogs and cats and help more families in need.
