You may notice teal ribbons around trees and post on Ridgeland Ave during the month of September. These are to help raise awareness of ovarian cancer, often a difficult cancer to treat because there is no early detection test. Some signs and symptoms may include: abdominal bloating and pain, back pain, indigestion or feeling full quickly, and unusual fatigue. The Chicago Ridge Public Library is now offering adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online through a new program, Career Online High School (COHS). The Friends of the Library are providing a limited number of free scholarships to qualified adult learners who are looking to advance their careers, prepare for workforce entry, or continue their education. Once enrolled, COHS pairs each student with an academic coach, who provides the student with an individual career path, offers ongoing guidance, evaluates performance, and connects the student with the resources needed to master the courses. The Chicago Ridge Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator! This full-time position will be in charge of all library marketing including, but not limited to, social media and newsletter copy.
