The New Building Campaign has exceeded $2.4 million!

Dear <<First Name>>,

We have some incredible news!

  • Tom's Food Markets has made a $250,000 gift to the campaign to name the Children's Room - a lasting gift to our community.
  • John and Mary Melvin have named the circulation desk of the future library with a major gift of $75,000.
  • The Mark Payne and Mary Mueller $50,000 Challenge has been met!

We have almost reached our goal - but we'd like to beat it! We plan to run the campaign through the end of December (as previously anticipated). There are still plenty of naming and recognition opportunities for donors who want to be a part of the New Building Campaign - please feel free to contact us at info@newinterlochenlibrary.org or (231) 276-5775.

We could not be more grateful for your generosity as we make our community's dream come true. We will keep you informed as we reach our goal and move beyond.

Thank you,

Mary Beth Hardwicke and Mark Payne
Campaign Co-Chairs

PS - Please join us October 22 for a pancake breakfast - see below!

Thank you Tom's!
Tom’s Food Markets have served three generations in the Grand Traverse area. Now, they are making possible a special place in the new Interlochen Public Library to serve future generations. A $250,000 gift will enable the new library to realize its vision of a 1,150 square-foot children’s room with a floor to ceiling glass wall. “It provides a visual connection, but gives children their own space,” explained John Dancer of Cornerstone Architects. “Everything in the room is kid-scaled, including lower windows so children can easily see outside. It is a room designed to let kids to be kids.” Click here to read more.

Thank You Rumpled Quilts Kin!
Interlochen quilt group, Rumpled Quilts Kin, donated 32 art quilts to benefit the Interlochen Public Library New Building Campaign. The visually stunning quilts, including wall hangings and table runners, were on display at the library for a silent auction July 20 – August 18 and raised $2,200!
Location Celebration Took Place July 31

What a fun afternoon! Special thanks to the Cherry Capital Men's Chorus and everyone who bid on songs and serenades - raising $450 for the new library!

Community members took advantage of the new opportunity to have their message become a permanent part of the library landscape by buying a brick - raising $1,000 toward the campaign.
