We're wrapping up our summer library program this year with our "Closing Ceremonies" at Legion Field on September 1. All ages are welcome to come and play lawn games with us (if we get enough pop boxes, we'll have Giant Jenga, too!). Children who turned in their completed summer reading logs on time will also get their summer prize pack, including a book of their choice. No registration needed.
We hope you read lots of great books this summer! Everyone's summer reading logs (children, teens, and adults) are due back to the library on August 26 by 6:00 pm. Children who reached their summer reading goal (40 books for ages 3-6 and 1000 pages for ages 7-11) will get a book and a prize bag at the final party on September 1st.
Congratulations to our director and her family on the birth of a healthy baby boy. Welcome to the library family, Levon!
Erase your library fines and help stock the Platteville Food Pantry at the same time. From September 10-25, we’ll waive $1.00 of your overdue fines for each food or non-food item you bring in for the food pantry. You win, the library wins, and the food pantry wins.

A few caveats: we can't accept expired items, homemade items, or fresh food. Non-glass containers are preferred. Lost fines, damage fees, and processing fees cannot be waived through Food for Fines.
Here at the library, our roots run deep! Watch for this summer's top readers riding in the Platteville Dairy Days Parade. The parade starts at 9:30 am on September 10. Be sure to also vote for our Dairy Days decorated cow as your favorite cow (hint, hint).
