RGHS Weekly Bulletin 26 August 2016

What excitement we have had this past weekend, bagging a first, second and third place in the various age groups of the PGSGU Netball tournament.  Congratulations, in particular, to Ms Theron and her 1st Netball girls who won the  Under 19 trophy.  This was a well-deserved win that has come after years of perseverance, dedication and sticking to a game plan.  We are all so proud of this achievement!

At the end of this month we will say goodbye to Ms Stander, who started in our Afrikaans Department at the beginning of this year.  We have really come to enjoy her energy and enthusiasm, and her vibrant presence and bubbly personality will be missed at Rustenburg.  Her husband has been offered a rugby coaching position in South Korea and we wish them both well as they take on this exciting new adventure.

Mrs Herrendoerfer will be going on accouchement leave early in September, returning at the start of next year with an addition to her family.  We will let you know the details regarding the new arrival as soon as we hear.  We wish her much happiness and fulfilment in this new phase as a mother.

Things are about to quieten down a bit today as our Matrics start writing their Preliminary Examinations.  The younger girls have already started moving into school leadership positions and it is wonderful to see how many are willing to get involved in the various facets of school life outside of the classroom.

John F Kennedy said, “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.”  We hope that, as they take on their new responsibilities, they make the most of these leadership positions.  Apart from the opportunity to make a difference in the life of the school, they can benefit personally and learn valuable skills and lessons that will benefit them in their adult lives.

Warm Regards

Susan Schnetler
Acting Principal
