HUD’s Office of Affordable Housing Programs (OAHP) expanded the one-day rental compliance trainings to offer a series of two-day trainings based on feedback from the pilot session for this series. This training will cover the HOME regulations for rental housing including both the development and long term compliance of affordable housing. Topics include funding decisions and eligibility requirements, underwriting, rents and income limits, and long term compliance. This training builds on the Building HOME training basics and takes a more in-depth look at the program requirements including implementing changes for Rental under the new HOME rule.
Who Should Attend?
This training is intended for HOME participating jurisdiction (PJ) staff, subrecipients, state recipients, and consortium members. This training will be particularly helpful for staff responsible for long term compliance.
Because of space limitations, participation is limited to two registrants per PJ. Additional registrants will be waitlisted and confirmed as space is available.
There will be no geographic limitations or local preferences for registration; however, HUD encourages participants to attend the closest training session.
Please note the following:
- Your enrollment in the training does not guarantee approval. You will receive a confirmation email titled “Confirmation_Rental Housing Compliance” once your enrollment has been approved.
- Please do not make any non-refundable travel arrangements until you receive an email confirmation notice.
- HUD cannot be responsible for penalties incurred due to cancelled arrangements.
