Do you remember the last time you moved? You didn’t know where you would shop, what the schools were like, and who you would make new friends with. It was an exciting and anxious time. As we invite and welcome new people to Lakeside now and in the coming years of growth we need to remember what it is like to be new, and we need to remember how important hospitality is to make everyone feel welcomed into God’s family. Water282: Water282 is a faith-based nonprofit that digs deep water wells- bore holes- in Zambia. Lakeside UMC is sponsoring a well in the village of Chiuye A in the eastern province of Zambia. This community is one in which Brent and Bonnie Moser have been working and relationships have been formed. So, this village is not just “someplace in Africa” but a place where we have friends.
