We are excited to welcome back the Rav and his family who have been away for the summer at NCSY Kollel in Eretz Yisrael.  We look forward to once again, gaining from his Torah and inspirational shiurim closing out the month of Av on a high note, as we begin to prepare for Chodesh Elul. Thank you to Rabbi Moshe Schapiro for giving the Drashos and Shabbos afternoon shiurim throughout the summer while the Rav was away.
 
We welcome Maria and Rabbi Daniel Beider who recently joined as members.
 
The third and final Women's Shalosh Seudos of the season will IY”H be THIS Shabbos, August 20th at 5:00pm at the home of Chana and Rabbi Ari Sytner, 88 Rector Court, Bergenfield. Sign up to make a dish for the shalosh seudos! Looking forward to a summer of growth in Torah and in camaraderie! The sisterhood would like to thank the Rothman, Swinkin, and Sytner families for opening their homes for the women's shalosh seudos' over the summer.

We invite all men and age-appropriate boys to join us this Motzaei Shabbbos in the shul at 9:30pm for a special Shabbos Nachamu Melave Malka & Kumtitz.
 
Yamim Noraim seating is now available for full member reservations on the Shul’s website - http://www.ohrhatorah.com. Please note the following: 
  • Unlike in the past, there are no paper forms and all reservations need to be made online
  • Until September 4th, members in good standing have the exclusive right to purchase seats.  Please note that even during the exclusive period, seating is on a first come, first served basis, and will not be guaranteed at any time.
  • After September 4th, seating will be opened up to affiliate members and non-members.
  • To be in good standing, a member is required to either be up to date with respect to its monetary obligations to the Shul or shall have made alternative arrangements with the Shul Treasurer, Avrami Tabacznik. 
Save the date! Mrs. Shira Smiles will be speaking at Beth Abraham on August 24 at 8:30. Her topic will be: "Outer and Inner Greatness: Appreciating those Around You".
 
Save the date! All women are invited to "Paint with Me!" on Sunday, September 18th at 8:00PM. Bring your friends for a fun night out; the cost is $30. Stay tuned for more details.
 
Youth News:

Interested in joining a great group of teens working in a growing Youth Department? Looking to make a difference in the lives of our youth? Look nowhere else but the Ohr HaTorah Youth Department! Our directors are working on the final touches of our 2016-2017 youth season. To request an application please email Eileen and Jordan at youth@ohrhatorah.com. We are looking for leaders to fill the following positions:
 
  • Girl Leaders for our 1st-4th Girl groups (8th grade and older)
  • Boy and Girl Substitute Leaders (7th grade and older)
 
Save the Dates:
 
Shabbos Morning programming returns on Shabbos September 10th, starting with Junior Congregation at 9am and Shabbos Morning Groups from 9:30-10:45am.
 
Sunday September 18th from 1-3pm, we invite the entire shul to join us for a BBQ and Special Activities (think water...lots of water!) in the Youth House Backyard as we kick off the 2016-17 Youth Season. More details to follow.
