 #facebook 

• There has been an ongoing discussion about Facebook announcing the fight against adblockers. Any thoughts?
• In other news, @mattnavarra asked for advice: Facebook offered him a chance to convert his personal profile into a Page. Would you take it? According to @victorp83, this would come as a degradation to his followers, who would become fans. Do you have any advice?

The tool-discussion of the week is about bookmarking managers.

• Florian was asking for tips and got some suggestions from the channel, lots of them well known suspects, like Pocket or Pinboard. Florian hasn’t made a final decision yet, but was so kind as to share his evaluation with us.

• Matt Navarra has shared his rant about the most annoying kind of Twitter user: “The Spammy Follow / Unfollow Twitter Account Parasite” - and, of course, he’s completely right, that those self-proclaimed “Social Media Strategists”, or “Digital Experts” are definitely a pain in the ass.
• My personal opinion: I don’t think that they’re a real problem for Twitter. Their behaviour is embarrassing, but mostly for themselves. You can just ignore them, they won’t hurt yout. Matt says this as well: “I’m not for one minute suggesting this is Twitter’s biggest issue, nor that it even comes close to the upset and distress caused by other bigger challenges the platform faces (think harassment and abusive tweets).”
• The quote in bracket brings up another topic (that we didn’t discuss in the channel): Twitter is finally rolling out its anti-harassment filter to all users. Verified users have been using for quite a while, and it seems to work really well - last year, Caitlin Dewey tested the tool and was confident: “Twitter has taken its biggest step yet against harassment. And here’s the incredible thing — cue parades, confetti, brass bands, etc. — this new step actually works.”

• @maxieq is planning to expand his work to Youtube. He’s not sure how yet, though. Have some tips and/or ideas? Tap in to #video and help him out!
• And, while you’re there, raise your opinion about the competition among major platforms (Youtube, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter) of tying publishers to produce native video content. :)
