Back to School!

The kids have started back at Hillcrest International School and are adjusting well to the new year. This marks a new phase of life for us as all the kids are now full time students. David just started 1st grade, Addy 3rd grade and Anne is in 5th grade.

National Training and Flight Update

Currently the plan for Courtney to start flying again will be this October.  In the mean time he has been really busy overhauling the runway charts system for over 200 airports. He is also working with the National Training Program which we are encouraged to see the hand of God moving. Many things God has put on our hearts is becoming actuality. Plus, we are seeing Him arrange it all and bring people to be a part of the vision without much effort or recruiting from us! Years ago, Courtney envisioned partnering with Indonesian high schools. The first step of this is getting under way with an after school program for a few kids to come to the hanger a couple times a week.

It is also exciting to see Rio Seseray being checked out as a line pilot. He and his new bride are also expecting there first baby any day now.  Sony is hoping to go back to the US for the JAARS aviation Orientation this January but he was declined a visa during his interview in Jakarta last week. We are changing some details and plan to try again, please pray for wisdom and favor as we try and figure out the best plan. Dian is attending a mechanic school in Java and Jesse is working on his English in hopes to attend Mechanic School in America next year. Courtney is working with each of these guys.

Beth is also getting involved and  will be assisting in the training program later in October. She and another pilot's wife will teach English to the two students who are employed at YAJASI. The Indonesians learning English helps improve their skills as a person and helps with their tasks around the hangar. Indonesians are eager to learn English!

Prayer Team

September is starting off to be an exciting month of prayer emphasis here! Two ladies from Oregon just arrived for three weeks specifically to PRAY. The focus is prayer in the city, for the people, for Bible translation projects and to encourage the ministries. Beth is facilitating the prayer team and meetings as well as hosting the ladies in our home and planning out meals. We asked for a prayer trip like this and are thrilled that these ladies will come. They will spend this coming weekend in a bible translator's village to pray with her and her local partners in Bible translation. Historically and today, the people of this village are caught in  strongholds of killings, revenge, war, theft and greed.

There is already some great enthusiasm for this prayer effort and several people from our local church and others in the community have joined in the daily worship and prayer walks. Our local Papuan pastor is glad to help renew a heart of prayer, see God revive the church, and see the Lord touch this city. Pray that God will guide us in our prayers and that this prayer focus will ignite us all to a deeper connection with the Lord.

House Project

Many of you have asked us about our house project. We have been moving forward and are almost ready to pour part of the foundation. The last couple months Courtney has fallen several trees and moved a lot of dirt to get ready for the foundations. By October we hope to have half of the bottom floor poured so we can then rent a backhoe to excavate some more dirt and position the three lower containers.  After that we can start the rest of the foundation, septic and water collection tank. Below are a few pics of the progress and the basic shipping container design. Please pray for wisdom and endurance as this is a busy time for us!  Below are a couple of photos of the current progress and the plans to us 6 twenty foot shipping containers.
