Updates from the network

AFRICA:
The African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW) published its roadmap for achieving the N’Gor Commitments on Water Security and Sanitation in Africa after the Africa Water Week 6. The communique specifically highlights the need to tackle governance and improve transparency, accountability and integrity in the water sector.

BENIN:
Water sector stakeholders in Benin (Government agencies, NGOs and private sector representatives) have jointly developed and validated a Water Integrity Charter for the Benin water sector. The Charter outlines the values and principles that should guide policy reform and new investments in the water sector to ensure more integrity, increase transparency, and reduce corruption.

COLOMBIA:
We are working in Colombia with The Nature Conservancy to ensure water funds globally are even more transparent and secure for investors and communities. Water funds are trailblazing new instruments to channel investment for conservation measures for watersheds that supply water to cities and communities.
