Louisiana Flood Response

Thanks, to your past gifts the WMBA was able to help the Louisiana Flood Disaster Relief through the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. Our own Unit 10R team is on standby for call out to Louisiana. Debra Sides, DR Coordinator is asking that we pray for the people of Louisiana and those that are already in place volunteering. Pray for safety and for hearts to be touched by the showering of God's love upon the people who are hurting.

Transitional AM

I have been reading Seizing Your Divine Moment by Erwin McManus. The book is a challenge for followers of Christ to live a life of adventure. Living this way allows us to experience the presence and power of God. One of the best quotes is “there are few things more inspiring than a life lived with passionate clarity.”
It is easy to let divine moments pass us by. I sincerely believe that the WMBA is standing at the intersection of a great divine opportunity. The Strategic Plan that our Executive Committee has approved has “passionate clarity” in every sentence. The goal is to have a network of invested, healthy churches impacting our communities for Christ.
There is a process in accomplishing goals. Our Search Team is busy and prayerfully considering candidates to fill the strategic role as Association Strategist. Please continue to pray through this process as this decision will shape WMBA for years to come.
Life is full of divine moments. I encouraging you to be a part of seizing this one for Kingdom sake!

Blessings,
Steve Foster

New Bible Study in Media Center

Learn To Guard What God Has Entrusted To You

We were never meant to take this journey of faith alone or in secret. God has entrusted us with the great and mighty gift of the gospel, something too precious and life-giving to keep to ourselves.

In this 6-session Bible study, Beth will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live lives of faithfulness.

  • Biblically-rooted and gospel-centered content
  • Interactive teaching videos (approximately one hour per session)
  • Leader material available with guides to questions and discussion with small groups
  • Beth's recitation of 2 Timothy to encourage Scripture memorization
  • 5 personal study segments with homework to complete between 6 weeks of group sessions
To reserve this or any of our Bible Studies contact Cathy Whitten for availability -- cw@westmetrobaptist.com

WMBA Executive Committee Meeting
Tuesday, September 27, 2016

I am Kim Jeffrey, a MSC Missionary with NAMB and director of Rising Oak Missions (R.O.M.) The goal of Rising Oak Missions is for each person reached to become an oak of righteousness so that God may be glorified in their lives. My focus is apartment ministry in Cobb County. Through on-site after school activities, backyard Bible clubs, Easter egg hunts, TeenScenes and Happy Birthday Jesus parties, etc. R.O.M. reaches out to show Christ’s love through servanthood ministry and building relationships with families in the community.
This past summer God blessed me with a tremendous season of Backyard Bible Clubs and ministry through my local church, Mt. Pisgah Baptist. R.O.M. hosted Bible Clubs at Kingsley Village, Hunter’s Grove and Parkview Apartments. Over 75 students attended these events and heard about the One True God. I was then able to transport about 20 of these students to VBS. The kids and I were excited because 13 adults attended church to hear the children sing their VBS songs! It was a tremendous blessing that through the generosity of donations from Mt. Pisgah and Calvary Baptist, I was able to deliver school supplies to over 40 students that attended a BYBC. I was also able to take several youth to Youth Blast at my church. I am still rejoicing because two of these students received Christ.
I would love to share with your church, Sunday school class, WMU group, etc. more about what God is doing in apartment ministry. Additionally, if you are looking for a local mission project idea please, come and assist me with a special event. Most importantly, remember me and the apartments in your prayers. Contact Kim at 770) 605-8673 or kimpjeffrey@comcast.net for more information about R.O.M.

In Christ,
Kim
