Summer Send-Off and

Pot Luck!

In order to celebrate an excellent summer of rowing, and to give everyone one more chance for a summer row, we are having a Summer Send-Off and Pot Luck!

Members of all programs are invited to come to the club at 8AM on Sunday, August 28. We will put together some fun boats for one last summer spin on the lake, followed by a pot luck on the docks and in the boathouse.

Canoe Kayak Nationals on Lake Banook August 29 - September 4, 2016

Hard to believe, but it is already the end of August. This August is a little extra special on Lake Banook, as it is hosting the Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) National Championships August 29-September 4, 2016.

There will be no club programs offered Monday, August 29 to Monday, September 5. CKC Nationals is a huge event for our club and our community, and we want to respect the space they need for things to run smoothly.

The Mic Mac AAC Rowing Bay closest to the beach will be used as the weigh station for canoes and kayaks before and after competition. The scale is quite large, and requires a lengthy calibration process. It will be set up the afternoon on Sunday, August 28, and will remain in place for the duration of the event. This will make the boats in that bay inaccessible.

Private boat owners - if you would like to access your boat during Nationals, please contact Peter Lombardi at: facilities@adckc.ca There are limited storage spaces for boats at the Bell Aliant Racing Centre that can be arranged directly with Peter. Private boats will be inaccessible unless alternate storage arrangements are made.

The Mic Mac AAC parking lot will be inaccessible for parking, as it is being used for medal ceremonies.
