Welcome to the September 2016 issue of the AICCM Newsletter!
  
 
 
We have a bumper issue this time—with something for everyone! Michelle Berry tells us of her recent trip to Antarctica to work on Mawson’s Huts. There are reviews of IRUG 2016, APTCCARN 2015 and the Metal Soaps in Art Conference and a call for members to get involved in a project to conserve historic Girl Guides uniforms. We also have our regular content, National Council news, institutional news, SIG news, state news and news from the universities.  There’s also a report from President MaryJo Lelyveld and a return of an old favourite—anonymous musings from “a conservator”.

Meet a Conservator—Prue McKay
 
I love parchment, but I don’t get to play with it much. Another material I love is pith paper and I have a big collection of antique pith pictures. I’m not sure I would call it a favourite object, but the thing I remember most that I’ve worked on was a Japanese shunga print I had to retouch when I was a student, working for Ranson Davey in his studio at Ainslie.
