Sharpen your Perspective with i-Tree Landscape
 The i-Tree Landscape mapping and land cover analysis application is growing its high resolution data availability for trees and impervious surfaces. Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) coverage for 37 additional locations were recently added to the program, increasing the accuracy and scale of Landscape’s ability to assess tree benefits and other ecosystem services in communities.
The high-resolution data – typically 1 meter or less – is part of the toolset Landscape uses to identify the extent of benefits being provided by trees for counties, municipalities, and neighborhoods, including air pollution removal and stormwater avoidance. Landscape also offers a new option to assess the importance of forests in protecting surface water quality in watersheds. Learn more >

Australian i-Tree Eco Project Profile
 The City of Unley, SA, Australia is taking action to evaluate its urban forest, opening the door to discussions with community members and government officials about the benefits and management needs of their forest. A recently completed i-Tree Eco project focused on estimating tree environmental services and assessing risk at Ridge Park - a key city green space. The study provided important information for decision-makers and residents to better understand the benefits and values provided by their community trees. Learn more >

i-Tree Hydro v6, Preview at WEFTEC 2016
An update to i-Tree Hydro is in the works, with a beta release planned for late 2016. This update includes improvements on existing features as well as new ones including:
- Green infrastructure modeling of tree pits, rain gardens, green roofs, pervious pavement, and rain barrels
- Extended outputs for interception, evaporation, evapotranspiration, and infiltration
- Higher resolution pre-loaded topographic data
- Twenty-plus years of additional pre-loaded weather data
As part of the anticipated release of i-Tree Hydro version 6, model developers and specialists are hosting a workshop ( see the flyer here) at WEFTEC 2016 on September 25 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It will include lessons & discussion on the model and this update, along with hands-on exercises to help attendees become experts. Learn more > |

Upcoming i-Tree Online Webinars
Please join us for the next monthly i-Tree instructional webinar that will introduce you to the latest urban forest assessment tools and updates available in the i-Tree software suite. The free series is offered by the Urban Natural Resources Institute (UNRI) and will be led by members of the i-Tree Team and other instructors. The sessions will feature demonstrations, presentations and discussion designed to help participants become familiar with the i-Tree tools and provide a foundation for further learning. Pre-registration is required to participate.
