Save the Date for FUMCA's Fall Kickoff!

September 11 | 10:45 am-1:00 pm | North Parking Lot
 

Join us after worship in the North parking lot for food, bounce houses, an ice cream truck, a live DJ, and more! Come meet & greet our new pastors and staff and find out how to get connected into different ministries with our Connection Fair.

FUMC of Arlington is a Shield a Badge partner with the Arlington Police and prays for the department and individual officers daily. The Arlington Police Chief will be speaking in worship and officers are invited to come eat and mingle with congregation.

Dr. Mosser's Lectionary Bible Study Potluck

5:30-7:00 pm | Banquet Room
Dr. David Mosser will begin the Fall session of the Lectionary Study with a Potluck meal at 5:30 pm and the study from 6:00-7:00 pm. Each Tuesday, Dr. Mosser presents information on the four scriptures from which the next Sunday's sermons will focus. Childcare is provided upon request at 817-274-2571.

10:00-11:00 am or 6:30-7:30 pm in Room A six-week study on these four Pastoral Epistles to help discover the encouragement, wisdom and practical direction found in these writings. Study Book by James Earl Massey available in the church office for $10.

Away We Go: Texas Civil War Museum

Away We Go to the Texas Civil War Museum in Ft. Worth. Bus leaves the church at 10:00 and returns around 2:00. Lunch included in the price, $20.

A seven-week grief support group for those who have suffered loss. Facilitated by Arlington Chapel. Meets every Thursday evening 6-7:30 in the church parlor.

Book Study on Marcus Borg's Reading the Bible Again For The First Time

6:00-8:30 pm | Adult Library
A description of the historical metaphorical view of the Bible and its implications will be the topic of discussion in this six-week course beginning September 8, 6:30-8:00 pm. Books may be purchased in the office. A study guide is available.

A program to provide an evening of respite for parents of special needs children once a month. A team of volunteers provide childcare on the first Friday evening of the month while parents enjoy a night out. Contact Ellen Bauman for more information.

Disciple II:Into the World

4:00-6:00 pm | Disciple Learning Center
Participants meet each Sunday afternoon for a 32 week of the scriptures. The first half of the study covers Genesis and Exodus. the second half is on Luke and Acts. The study is facilitated by Larry Thomas. Study books available. Participants will also need a good study Bible.

Youth Orchestra Kickoff Rehearsal

All youth who play a string, woodwind, or brass instrument are invited to come to the first Youth Orchestra rehearsal of the year. The youth orchestra plays in the 8:15/11:00 services once a month and is co-directed by Arthur Busby and Sean Hale.

Beginnings I: An Introduction to the Christian Faith

Beginnings I is a 12-week study which also includes a light meal each week. All are invited to participate. This study is recommended to those new to our congregation or to the United Methodist Church.
