FCSH 2016 Summer School (25-27 July, FCSH NOVA)

Between 25-27 July the course “Threat or Opportunity? Ecological Limits to Global Security” (“Ameaça ou Oportunidade? Limites Ecológicos à Segurança Global”) took place in the context of the FCSH Summer School 2016, organized by CENSE members Ana de Jesus, Giulia Iannuzzi, Inês Cosme, Luís Dias e Pedro Clemente.

1st Luso-Brazilian Symposium (11-12 July, FCT NOVA)

For the first time, the ISDRS Conference had a pre-event aimed at enhancing Luso-Brazilian research work. This event was organized by Universidade Nova de Lisboa, School of Science and Technology and the University of São Paulo, Institute of Energy and Environment.

22nd International Sustainable Development Research Society 2016 Conference (13-15 July, NOVA - Campus de Campolide)

ISDRS 2016 conference was organized by CENSE, having as a Chair Tomás Ramos and as Co-chairs Sandra Caeiro and Rui Santos. It was a scientific and social success!

Some numbers of the ISDRS 2016 conference: 510 delegates from 54 countries and all continents, 494 scientific works (oral and poster presentations, including the pre-event, Luso-Brazilian Symposium), organized in 8 plenary sessions and 79 parallel sessions plus the pre-event sessions (4 plenary sessions and 19 parallel sessions) and several pleasant social events.

New project at CENSE: Lisbon Low Carbon Innovation Ecosystem

Climate-KIC is the largest European public-private partnership for innovation in Climate Change, supported by a dynamic network of companies, academic institutions and public sector. In the last selection contest for innovative regions (Regional Innovation Scheme), the Portuguese consortium "Lisbon Low Carbon Innovation Ecosystem" was selected. This consortium is coordinated by FCT NOVA, with the following partners: Building Glogal Innovators (BGI), Startup Lisboa, CCIAM (Universidade de Lisboa), Portuguese Environmental Agency (APA) and the Portuguese environmental ngo ZERO.
