Remember you’re always welcome to come back and visit your alma mater, especially when there are so many events and activities going on. Homecoming is an exciting week of rallies, concerts, parades and football game, which takes place Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. against Louisiana Tech at FIU Stadium. We also have a full schedule of great music and theatre performances this fall. Invite your friends and family!

FOT Kickoff a Success!
Thank you for coming out to our Festival of the Trees Kickoff, a prelude to the 30th Annual Festival of the Trees event coordinated by FIU Interior Architecture and its advisory board. The Kickoff event took place Tuesday, August 9 at the Coral Gables Tap 42 and drew a crowd of more than 100 guests including students, alumni, faculty and local designers. To read more, click here
FIU Art + Art History Department celebrates Olympics with fiber art installation
Waves of green, blue, black, pink and yellow decorate the roof of Miami International Airport's North Terminal thanks to a group of nine talented FIU Art + Art History students and alumni. The installation, entitled Olympic Waves celebrates the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Jainero, Brazil. Architecture Professor celebrates opening of first solo exhibition

Professor Emeritus Clive King offers 2-Day Intuitive Drawing Workshop
Professor Emeritus, Clive King, offers a 2-Day Intuitive Drawing Workshop to students and the general public from Friday, Sept. 2 to Saturday, Sept. 3 at Miami Beach Urban Studios. Robert Zuckerman: Wonderism exhibition continues until Sept. 30
The exhibition is presented at Miami Beach Urban Studios at Long Hall Gallery on the 4th Floor. It will continue until Friday, Sept. 30 and is free and open to the public.  Wonderism is a series of color photographs that focuses on capturing the human spirit and experience. For more information on the exhibition, click here. Visitors are welcomed to the Urban Studios from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or by scheduled appointment.
CU4TRO CAMINOS - Art Exhibition
Miami-Dade College North Campus will be hosting a group exhibition in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month including the work of Carlos Luna and FIU alumni Jefried Lotti, Alvaro Labanino and Miguel Saludes. The show will feature their most ambitious works yet. There will be two openings. One on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. catering to MDC students and one on Friday, Oct. 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., which will be the official public reception. It will take place at the Miami-Dade College North Gallery, Building 5 11380 NW 27th Ave Miami, FL 33167.
Calling all Walk on Water Grads!
Join us at this year is the 27th annual Walk on Water competition where for the first time, there will be two races. One is open to universities and colleges from across the country, and the other is for FIU students. Awards will be granted to the 1st place winner in the open race, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the FIU race, as well as anyone who breaks the record of crossing the lake in less than 1 minute and 3 seconds. The event will take place, Thursday, Nov. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the Green Lake followed by a Luncheon & Awards Ceremony at 1p.m. at the Paul L.
