Just in: FY2016 Survey Highlights

Never underestimate the power of a survey! CWHC's programs continue to be guided by feedback from our client community, gathered in no small part through client surveys. While we're still compiling the big picture from what we received in Fiscal Year 2016, here are a few highlights that we wanted to share from our Clinical Services program:
  • 100% of clients felt their provider respected their identity and beliefs. One client wrote "My care provider was understanding of my lifestyle and very encouraging of positive decision making - completely free of judgement."

  • 100% of clients reported that their provider explained everything well. One client wrote "My provider took the time to fully explain everything and clearly and patiently answered my questions."

  • 88% of clients felt able to make a health change in their life after their visit. One client wrote "I feel much more free to be open about my health, my body, and my identity because I'm not worried about judgement here."

  • While clients increasingly have access to insurance, we are seeing a rise in the number of underinsured clients: 31% of clients with insurance had high deductible plans that can make it difficult to afford needed care.

  • 90% of clients said that CWHC's sliding scale was important to them.
We can't wait to hear, read, and learn from what our FY2017 clients have to say!

Food, Friends, and CWHC

We are so excited to announce that CWHC will be the beneficiary of September's Seven Species Supper Club!

Hosted by Chicago-area chef, winner of "America's Best Cook", and former CWHC board member Stephanie Goldfarb (pictured right), Seven Species Supper Club is a great way to try delicious new food and meet new people, all while supporting access to revolutionary health care.

September’s Supper Club meals will be Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th. Click here to check out the menu and to reserve your tickets! Bon Appetit!

Meet Our Marathon Team Member: Andy!

Andy is another amazing member of #TeamCWHC taking part in next month's Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

What is your marathon running history?
I've run several marathons and some longer races.

What are your long-distance running strategies – what do you do to stay focused, to keep going, and to enjoy yourself while running?
Patience and breathing. I wait for my body to settle into itself and then I just cruise along.

What do you do when you aren’t running?
Help organize, fund, and develop transformative alternatives to incarceration, read science fiction, eat pizza.

Complete the following sentence: I’m running for revolutionary health care because…
It is the health care we deserve.

Thank you for being part of our team, Andy! You can support Andy's race for revolutionary health care here!
