Fallasburg Festival for the Arts 2016

Fallasburg Festival for the Arts is a 2-day event held in Kent County's Fallasburg Park. The festival put on by Lowell Arts features 100 booths of local artists and crafts masters, food, and a kids' crafts booth as well as outdoor performances by area musicians. The festival is September 17 and 18 this year and activities will begin at 10am and go until 5pm both days. Admission to the event is free.

This year, KCPF will be hosting a booth at the festival. Stop by and say hi!

Featured Park:

Dutton Shadyside Park
Dutton Shadeyside Park in the city of Dutton is known for its large maple trees that give the park its perfect picnic atmosphere. The park offers two playground structures and a ball diamond as well as several picnic table areas and an open shelter available for rent.

The Plaster Creek Stewards from Calvin College are planning an important riverbank restoration for Plaster Creek running through the park. The restoration project will create a floodplain to take in storm water and reduce flooding in the park that will feature native wetland plants to keep the riverbank stable. Projects like these are important to our community because they offer a home for native plant and animal species as well as reduce area flooding which also decreases river erosion. More information about this project and the Plaster Creek Stewards can be found here.

Directions and detailed park information can be found by visiting the Kent County Parks Department website.
