Vote for Democrats – from the White House to the State House

Our choices on Nov. 8 are crystal clear.   As Democrats, we believe:

•    In raising the minimum wage.
•    Women should be paid the same as men for doing the same job.
•    Our laws should reflect our heritage as a nation of immigrants.
•    All people should be treated with dignity and respect, no matter their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
•    Climate change is real and we must do something about it.
•    Voting rights are civil rights and must never be impinged under false pretenses.

Republicans, on the other hand, would have you believe:

•    Reforming immigration means building a wall.
•    Global warming is a hoax.
•    The NRA knows best.
•    Businesses require low wages to survive, even if their workers can’t.
•    Civil rights can be applied selectively.

Vote for Democrats on Nov. 8 – up and down the ballot.  It is not enough to vote for Clinton and Kaine at the top.  We need to elect the down ballot Democrats to support them.  Let’s get it done – from the White House to the State House – and everyone in between.

News from some of our candidates

Latest news from Christina Hartman, candidate for PA's 16th Congressional District CLICK HERE.
We’re ready to win in November! As reported by Roll Call, democrats see a real chance in turning this district blue and the top of the ticket is on board! VP nominee, Tim Kaine, gave Christina a big shot out during his visit to the district in August.

Christina was happy to welcome Senator Kaine to Lancaster and looks forward to campaigning Secretary Clinton in the fall. The choice in this election is crystal clear: The Clinton-Kaine ticket is the winning ticket!

Support continues to pour in. Last month Christina received an endorsement from Governor Wolf and the Daily Kos!

Nearly 80 people attended our office opening on August 20th. You can check out photos here and watch Christina’s remark on our Facebook page.

If you are interested in writing a letter to the editor, canvassing, phone banking, or hosting a meet & greet please feel free to reach out to christina@christinamhartman.com. Remember, hope is not a strategy—hard work is. Volunteer your time today!

Democratic Senator Andy Dinniman, who has one of the best pro-environment voting records in the legislature, was endorsed by three leading environmental groups:

The Sierra Club

Clean Water Acton

In Chester County where we deeply care about open space and the environment, these endorsements are a strong affirmation of Senator Dinniman.

“Pennsylvania’s public natural resources are the common property of all of the people, including generations yet to come.(1)”
That is why I am so honored to have received the endorsements of:
   The Sierra Club of Pennsylvania
   Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania
   Clean Water Action

Protecting and saving our open spaces:
•    Improves our environment
•    Encourages agricultural endeavors
•    Improves storm water management
•    Reduces the cost of public infrastructure and programs which lessen the need for property tax increases
•    Supports industries that generate billions of dollars in economic activity annually

Through public/private collaboration, the support of local, county, state and federal departments and organizations Chester County has preserved more than 50,000 acres of farm land. I will work to continue our support from the state level and work with township and County organizations to continue the great work that they’ve done to date.

In the Kennett Spotlight: Susan Rzucidlo

Susan Rzucidlo’s campaign slogan is so clever: “The z is silent--she is not!” Clever and, yes, true! She is definitely a woman who speaks her mind. And that lack of silence is good for the people of PA's 158th Legislative District.

A native of Chester County, Susan is a graduate of Kennett High School, as is her father, husband, and her four children. Those four children range in age from 19 to 26; one of those children is on the autism spectrum and inspired her desire to help other families with disabled children.  As a result, she collaborated with Chief Kevin McCarthy to create the Pennsylvania Premise Alert system, a disability support program. This program has helped Pennsylvania families with children with disabilities to utilize services without any burden on the Commonwealth’s taxpayers.

While Susan’s not silent, she is certainly perseverant. She has run for the Pennsylvania State House for the last three election cycles: 2010, 2012, 2014, and now 2016. One of the signature features of her campaign is to knock on the doors at people’s homes, tell them who she is, what’s she’s running for and why.

One of those “why’s” is her plan to improve Pennsylvania public higher education. She wants to eliminate the Keystone Exam as a graduation mandate, but make sure that students are ready to graduate.  Susan also wants to strengthen community colleges and embrace students who are drawn to trade or apprenticeship programs. Her ultimate goal for higher education is to make the system strong, lessen the focus on standardized testing, and produce a well-educated Pennsylvania electorate.

Allow me to offer some election year advice: If Susan knocks on your door, open it and listen. You’ll be happy you did!
