Recent Testimonial

"Our luggage is unpacked and laundry done; our photos pasted into an album and our travel diary transcribed.  Time to take a moment to thank you for your kindness to us and to commend the very professional way you organized our trip to Costa Rica.

You must be so busy.  I can't imagine how you manage to promote your business, cultivate contacts among hotels, tour guides, and NGOs, and still have time to check in with clients.  And you have a personal life besides.  Amazing!

We look upon travel to a place like Costa Rica as an opportunity to learn, to embrace a culture . . . and, in this case, to greet strange and exotic animals.  In the service of these ends, no one could have been better suited than the guide you found for us.

Of course, you know Frank as a naturalist of considerable skill, a specialist in whales. But did you know he can also speak knowledgeably about Costa Rican authors like Jose Sanchez, filmmakers like Esteban Ramirez, and scientists like Franklin Chang Diaz?

I can't tell you how much I am indebted to Frank and how much regard I hold for him and for his lovely family.

If there was a small disappointment in the trip, it was that I had to confront the fact that I am no longer 20 years old.  Still, Frank shepherded my wife and I through the travails of travel with great care and consideration.  We couldn't have done it without him.

If there was an unexpected joy, it was the discovery of the Resplendent Quetzal.  We were totally unprepared for the charm and brilliance of this remarkable little bird.

I suspect that, in planning this trip, you knew perfectly  well how to gauge our limitations, our interests, and the experiences that would be most meaningful in a short period of time.

Thank you for all you do."

Featured Trip:

Ecuador – Galapagos, Cloud Forest and Volcanoes

Trip Highlights

Quito - The capital of Ecuador. Quito was founded in the 16th century on the ruins of an Inca city and stands at an altitude of 2,850 m. Despite the 1917 earthquake, the city has the best-preserved, least altered historic centre in Latin America. The monasteries of San Francisco and Santo Domingo, and the Church and Jesuit College of La Compañía, with their rich interiors, are pure examples of the ‘Baroque school of Quito’, which is a fusion of Spanish, Italian, Moorish, Flemish and indigenous art.

Cotopaxi - An active stratovolcano in the Andes Mountains, located about 50 km (31 mi) south of Quito, Ecuador, South America. It is the second highest summit in the country, reaching a height of 5,897 m (19,347 ft). It is one of the world’s highest volcanoes, but no longer holds the “highest” title outright, this title now going to the considerably higher Llullaillaco, which most recently erupted in 1877.

Mindo Cloud Forest - The most visited cloud forest in Ecuador and home to more than 100 species of mammals, 400 species of bird, tens of thousands of insect species and 2,500 species of plants.

Galapagos Islands - Home to a world famous national park and marine reserve. The islands’ flora and fauna were a source of inspiration to Charles Darwin in the 19th century and are a living laboratory for evolution.
