Autumn Field Trips?
 
Board Member Robert Wyatt suggests day-trips during the upcoming Autumn season. Where would you care to visit? Let Dr. Wyatt know at: rewyatt@uga.edu.  In the works – a trip to Pine Mountain in the spring.
 
And don’t overlook the Thursday morning Nature Rambles with Dale Hoyt at the Botanical Garden. (dhoyt5@charter.net).

Sandy Creek Nature Center.
A Guided Walk with Carmen Champagne to look for spiders, insects & other small creatures. Carmen has a great eye for spotting these little animals. Not only can she identify them, she knows lots about their natural history.

Wednesday, September 14, 7 pm
UGA Special Collections Library Auditorium
An evening of local poets celebrating nature. Reading will be Philip Lee Williams, Clela Reed, Robert Andrews Jr. and John Pickering.
 
Friday, September 23, 4:00 pm
University of Georgia Chapel.
Butterflies, Corals and the Future of Mankind: A Last Lecture,” by James W. Porter.Open to the public.
 
Saturday, October 8, 6:30 pm
State Botanical Gardens
Annual Celebration of the Friends GMNH. With special guest speaker Deborah Blum, Pulitzer-Prize winning science writer. Watch the mails for your invitation. Visit our web site at: http://gmnhfriends.org/.
