Citizen Engagment Opportunities
By Mayor Tammy
This is a busy week for the City with two huge opportunities for citizen engagement.
On Wednesday, you’re invited to a Town Hall at the brand new Hillsdale Elementary. We put together this Town Hall to give residents a chance to: Discuss and provide feedback on infrastructure in South Meridian; learn about new developments planned for the area south of I-84; gain understanding about the Meridian Library bond; and hear updates on the South Meridian YMCA partnership project. The meeting begins at 6:30pm. We will live stream it on our City of Meridian, Idaho Facebook page and we’ll post a video to our website, www.meridiancity.org, the following day.
Prior to the Town Hall, on Tuesday, you’re invited to weigh in on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2017. The public hearing is set for 6pm at Meridian City Hall, and council will vote on the proposed budget following the hearing...READ MORE.

JOIN US FOR MERIDIAN ART WEEK
September 5th - 9th
Have you heard about Meridian Art Week? It’s next week! One of the events is called Meridian Art Drop and now is the time to prepare if you want to participate. It's simple! CREATE a small piece of art (and attach a tag to your artwork) and SHARE it by hiding your art somewhere in Downtown Meridian.
During Art Week, if you FIND a piece of dropped art in Downtown Meridian put it on social media with the artist’s name and hashtags #MeridianArts and #MeridianArtDrop
Meridian Art Week concludes on Friday with an Art Walk and the unveiling of Daniel Borup’s Out on the Town art in the City Hall Plaza. Also that night – a chalk art competition, and a reception celebrating the September artists (Pinxit Collective) featured in the Initial Point Gallery, and more!

TEN MILE IS BACK OPEN!
Crews were able to fully re-open Ten Mile road between Pine Avenue and Franklin Road, ahead of schedule and in time for the Monday (August 29) morning commute. The purpose of the construction was to install a sewer manhole in the center of Ten Mile Road. The work is part of the City of Meridian’s construction of a water treatment facility, which will meet the needs of the growing community and provide the best water service possible to area residents and businesses.
