Join us for Bronco Happy Hour!
Advising and Academic Enhancement, the Career Center, and ASBSU host this annual mixer to connect students to the people invested in their success. Our goal is for students to make genuine connections with the many caring faculty and staff here at Boise State and with alumni and employers that are part of the Bronco family.
Bronco Happy Hour is a lively event with food, games, and honest talk about success, failure, and making college count. The room will have designated areas for people to connect by college, and will also include ping-pong and a photo booth. All students are welcome, and we are doing extra outreach to first-year students.
The consistent feedback from students last year was to increase the number of faculty and instructors in attendance. Please help us get the word out!

Tutors & Learning Assistants: Website Improved
Visit our new and improved tutoring website to find a clearinghouse of on-campus, online, free, and private tutoring options https://aae.boisestate.edu/tutoring/ .
A service indicator has been placed on the accounts of over 3000 new and transfer students who started in Fall 2016. This indicator requires that all first-term students visit with an academic advisor prior to enrolling Fall 2016 courses.
The indicator is called RAD–NTADV. Students have received an initial email communication from AAE and will receive additional emails from colleges and departments encouraging them to make advising appointments or attend group advising sessions. Notifications will also be displayed on marketing screens in the Student Union throughout the semester and on the Boise State Facebook and Twitter page.
Buster Bronco explains RAD Holds in this fun, short video, please watch and share on your social media channels! More information about RAD Holds at at http://aae.boisestate.edu/rad/.
Dean of Students' Think About It Hold
Contributed by the Office of the Dean of Students
At Boise State University we believe education is the key to creating a safe, healthy, successful community. To help establish this environment, Boise State provides students with the opportunity to engage with "Think About It", an online course to educate students through interactive, realistic scenarios and guided self-reflection about ways to support a positive learning environment for themselves and their peers.
Topics covered include:
Alcohol and Drugs
Bystander Intervention
Sexual violence
Healthy relationships
All incoming students, including new and transfer students, under the age of 21 are required to complete this course due to mandates from the Idaho State Board of Education and the federal government. Boise State has taken the position that students in this high-risk age group will benefit from the education provided in this program, either for themselves or in order to support others in our campus community.
Should you see this hold on a student's account, please let them know they need to complete the online module before the hold can be lifted. They can contact The Office of the Dean of Students if they need assistance logging in and/or when they have completed the course to have the hold removed (holds are automatically removed in batches every couple of days if they don't call).
