Statewide “A State of Teal Event”

September is national Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.  Calhoun Community College, Huntsville Hospital Women & Children’s Center, The Huntsville Botanical Gardens as well as other buildings in downtown Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile will be lighted teal to promote awareness of this disease which is the fifth leading cause of female cancer deaths.

The Lilies of the Valley is an ovarian cancer support and awareness group for women in the Tennessee Valley. Their mission is to spread awareness of ovarian cancer signs and symptoms in the hopes that the disease can be diagnosed at an earlier stage when it is most curable. Members of the Lilies of the Valley provide monthly support groups to help those diagnosed with ovarian cancer, as well as participating in local health fairs and other events to spread information. Who is guilty in this 'Fanfare to Murder?'

Thrive Alabama is excited to present David Moberg's murder mystery. Joanna Janeen, a young but fading starlet/singer, hosts a party to celebrate her upcoming performance tour. Joanna has lured noted Hollywood producer, Toby Torleen, to attend in the hope of winning a leading role in his newest film. Joanna's agent, husband, understudy, and maid see this party as their last hope to step into Joanna's spotlight.

Silly antics with the audience members, mistaken identities, unexpected surprises, and of course, murder abound as the characters jockey for attention and stardom. When gruff Detective Grout and his overzealous assistant arrive, the zany antics escalate to a hilarious conclusion.

As dessert is served, you are invited to help quiz the suspects and reveal the murderer!

Catering provided by Bubba's Silver Spoon Catering (vegetarian options available).
