We're hosting the 6th Annual Iron Chefs' Competition and local Food Demos at the 2016 Interior Provincial Exhibition this week!

Demonstrations by Rancho Vignola (cover photo) and Okanagan Rawsome and tastings featuring: local carrots versus California baby peelers; local melons versus Mexican melons; local Terroir Cheese comparisons...etc.

For the cooking competition, one of the events is a fun counterpoint of Chefs. At 11:00am on Friday, September 2nd, there will be two teams of mini-chuckwagon teamsters who will be competing in the amateur category. After which, two professional vegetarian chef teams will compete Friday at 1:00pm. This year's teams are coming from Salmon Arm, Kelowna, Shuswap and all the way from Nakusp!

Len Marriott of Terroir Cheese at last year's Iron Chef tent -

Terroir Cheese was at the 2015 Armstrong Interior Provincial Exhibition talking about and handing out cheese samples from his 5 kinds of artisanal cheese. Len will be back at the Iron Chef tent next Friday (Sep 2nd, 2016) at 3:00pm. He will be handing out cheese samples while Shanda from Rancho Vignola will be demonstrating how to prepare some delicious dishes using fresh crop dried fruit and nuts.

Meet Rosebank Farms' two new farm dogs, both border collie x shepherd x black lab cross. They are litter mates and are 5 1/2 months old. Winnie is the blue-eyed female with shepherd colouring and Charlie is the black lab male.

Training takes months to teach them to be properly vigilant in protecting the chickens and turkeys and these dogs are both well on their way. Our daughter, Kayla has taken the primary training responsibility and is doing a really great job with both dogs.

Our turkey chicks are growing fast -
