SIPA Alumni DIrectory Now Available to Students!
Have you heard about the new SIPA Alumni Directory? Students can now search and initiate contact with alumni based on region, field of study or work, and a variety of other criteria. It is a great tool to connect with SIPA alumni around the world and we hope you will find it useful in your networking efforts! The directory is available for current SIPA students and alumni.
With the database students can:
- Identify alumni in your preferred career field.
- Prioritize those with whom you share common interests or backgrounds.
- Email the alumnus/a to request an informational interview.
- Ask questions that will help you understand the field/job/organization and more!
To ensure that SIPA alumni can continue to be a resource for students, please follow these rules when using the SIPA Alumni Directory. Please be aware that students who do not follow these guidelines or misuse the directory will lose access.
Did you know OCS has hired SIPA alumni to serve as career coaches for current students? These alumni are experts in a variety of industries and can offer guidance to students who are contemplating various career choices or are seeking information about their field of interest. The SIPA Career Coaching (SIPACC) Program serves as a complement to services already offered by OCS. Students should schedule general appointments with OCS career advisers, and meet with SIPA career coaches for sector-specific information.
The SIPA career coaches are not recruiters; thus, you should not ask them for jobs. However, you may ask for industry-specific information, current trends in the field, advice about entry into a particular field, and other specific questions related to your job search.
