This month we had a really fun time together at the 7th Big Beach Busk, hosted a group of cyclists who cycled up from Manchester and had a brilliant adventure stopping at bee farms, growing projects and micro breweries, which was a great event during #ScotClimateWeek.  We held a parent's evening with Edinburgh Birth and Baby, welcomed a new Yoga teacher, Clare Freeman of Yogaforth on Tuesdays 1230-130 and 9 new coworkers!

Regular classes are now back in full swing, check out our online calendar for more information and there is still time to book into our Mindful Life Design course, more details below.

Tribe Family

This month we hosted a Parent's evening with Edinburgh Birth and Baby. The evening was full of useful information and demonstrations. We also handed out our lovely hand printed totes and our new Tribe Family booklets- which lists and explains all of our classes by our talented collective, Tribe Family. Booklets are available from Tribe and other local venues. See here for more info

Christmas Market

After last year's success, we are having another Christmas Market for Makers. The number of talented folk selling was brilliant and so was the turnout. Save the date and keep your shopping for the 10th December 12-4pm at Tribe Porty.
We are taking stallholder applications now, go here to get in there as the spaces are limited.

The Tree of Contemplative Practices

Mirabai Bush, a meditation and mindfulness teacher who leads Google's mindfulness training, "Search Inside Yourself," pointed us to an illustration of contemplative practices, which shows the breadth of meditation and mindfulness within traditions. Although this list isn't comprehensive, it does open up one's imagination about how these disciplines take root and manifest themselves in our lives. More from Trent Gilliss, here

Patty Smith on the Creative Impulse and the Childhood Epiphany in Which She Knew She was an Artist

Maria Popova beautiful explains this book, "How does one become an artist — not in a practical sense, not by some external measure, but by an invisible and intimate surrender to the creative impulse? For Patti Smith, one of the most radiant creative spirits of our time, it was a similarly precise and transcendent childhood experience. In Just Kids she recounts what she considers to be her first memory of the creative impulse." More here.

Five Ways to Say No Gracefully

BY COURTNEY E. MARTIN (@COURTWRITES), COLUMNIST

"I’m a white belt when it comes to saying no. It still kind of feels like a foreign language; I overthink my word choice and stumble around incoherently. I worry that it’s coming out all wrong — arrogant or ungrateful or uptight."
It is good to say yes but knowing when to say no is key. Read more here
