CEO Corner

VEP Staff and Board are currently working on the 2017 Operating Plan.  This is a comprehensive document which outlines where we are now with current strategies including results, and also new research providing direction for the 2017 Plan.  We welcome your input, so please reply with any comments or suggestions by September 24 regarding the Draft 2017 Operating Plan.  You are all a part of the success of this District. Thank you for being an involved partner and sharing your suggestions and input.

Every Kid in a Park Opportunity

We are happy to report that the federally funded Every Kid in a Park Program, which provides every 4th grader in the nation a free national park pass, is continuing through 2017. VEP has decided to continue our program by once again sending the Official Visit Estes Park Visitor Guide to 4th graders across the state - over 600 schools!
Backpack Opportunity - Round 2: We also have been providing free backpacks with Estes goodies to 4th graders at the Estes Park Visitor Center.  Due to popular demand, we are ordering more backpacks and need your promotional items to stuff them with.  Past contributions have been souvenir water bottles, scavenger hunt maps, crayons, stickers, activity books, and mini first aid kits. Each participant who provides something of value may also include a flyer or brochure about their business, making this program a great opportunity to advertise your business to families visiting Estes! Contact Suzy Blackhurst to sign up or learn more!
Travel Buzz
RSVP for the next Travel Buzz - September 21, 2016, 9:30 - 11 am. The topic is: The Fastest, Easiest & Most Affordable Way to Bring Customers Back: Your marketing efforts can bring in new customers once, but will it bring them back? It's far easier and much less expensive to retain customers than to always fight for new ones. So what can you do to bring them back without spamming them, time and again? In this workshop you'll learn the ten things you can do, for very little money, that will create repeat customers - for years. And you'll see how three communities actually make that happen and the results they enjoy.
We are returning to Inkwell and Brew for this Buzz - 150 E Elkhorn Ave. Please RSVP so the staff can prepare accordingly.
Lodging Tax Receipts
The total amount received in July was 7.53% higher than last year. When adjusted for late payments, the increase is estimated to be slightly higher at 8.59%. Year to date, lodging taxes are up 14.47%. When adjusted for late payments, however, the increase is estimated at 10.28%.
Heads Up: Extranet 4.0 Coming Soon
