Taste the Clay!
This single 2.5-hour class will give you a taste of what it’s like to learn to use the pottery wheel and to make objects off the wheel. Come, try your hand!
You'll be surprised that most people can make quite respectable bowls even if they’ve never done it before!
The content will give you a great introduction both to clay and to our studio so you can decide if you wish to join a weekly class later.
When: Friday 29 September, 6 - 8.30pm

Guest Artist Workshop
Our Guest Artist Workshops are designed for the experienced practitioner but are equally inspiring for people who are new to clay. Our guest artists are chosen for their unique skills, concepts or approach to clay and are often people at the height of their careers who are experienced, inspirational makers!
In our next Guest Artist Workshop, NSW based artist Sandy Lockwood will focus on demonstrating some her fluid ways of working with clay that exaggerate and preserve the movement of the potter’s wheel and touch of the hands. Sandy is one of Australia's most experienced ceramic artists. She teaches at the National Art School and exhibits regularly her beautiful functional and her sculptural ceramics.
This is a demonstration style workshop. Be prepared for in depth knowledge and to see many different skills. Sandy has not given a workshop in Melbourne before so this is a unique chance to receive pure inspiration and new knowledge from an experienced artist that will blow your mind!
